Back to School in Bukavu: Equipping Over 100 Children for Success

Back to School in Bukavu: Equipping Over 100 Children for Success

In August 2026, our team on the ground in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of the Congo, reached an incredible milestone: we successfully provided over 100 vulnerable children with the essential school supplies they need to step into the classroom this year.

Breaking Down Barriers to Education

In Eastern Congo, education is a privilege that remains out of reach for many. Roughly two-thirds of children in the region are not in school, primarily because their families simply cannot afford the required tuition, uniforms, and basic supplies.

For the children in our program, a new backpack filled with paper and pencils is much more than just a donation—it is the key to their future. By eliminating these financial barriers, we are ensuring that these kids have the opportunity to learn, grow, and reach their full potential in a safe environment.

A Community Effort

Seeing the joy and confidence on these students’ faces as they received their new supplies was a powerful reminder of why we do this work. This milestone was only made possible through the generosity of our supporters who believe that every child deserves a chance to learn.
